Hal L. Folander, MD is Chairman of the Department of Radiology and Section Chief , Interventional Radiology at St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network, Bethlehem , Pennsylvania . He received his BS in Chemistry at Tufts University and completed his medical training at New York University School of Medicine, New York and his medical residency at Hartford Hospital , Connecticut . Dr. Folander continued on to the University of Connecticut Health Center for his Radiology Residency where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Folander also completed a Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester , MA . Dr. Folander was Section Chief, Vascular and Interventional Radiology, St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem , Pennsylvania from 1987 to 1993. He has held the positions of Chairman, Department of Radiology and Medical Director, Vascular Center at Muhlenberg Hospital Center , Bethlehem , Pennsylvania from 1993 to 1999. Dr. Folander is board certified in Vascular and Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology. He has additional training in Endovascular Grafting. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in his area of expertise and is currently involved in several research projects. He holds professional memberships in the Society of Interventional Radiology, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, AHA - Council of Cardiovascular Radiology, American Medical Association and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Under Dr. Folander' leadership the radiology network has introduced state of the art equipment in every section. The department is involved in national research protocols and is an international show site for both imaging and information technology equipment. He is currently working with General Electric in the development of one of the five national hospitals which will be the GE Enterprise showcase of the future.
