Wilhelm Roentgen’s
discovery of the X-ray in 1895 opened a new window into
the human body. Since its early days of rudimentary
picture taking, the field of Radiology had become a
complex and multi-faceted science.
The past two decades have
seen explosive growth in radiology, likely far beyond
what even Roentgen could have dreamed. Radiologists play
an ever increasing role in diagnosis and management of
patients and the complex array of disease processes.
Diagnostic X-ray, CT
scanning (CAT Scan), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI),
and Nuclear medicine (including PET Scanning) are just
some of the tools available to physicians today.
Diseases are diagnosed earlier than ever before,
allowing for earlier treatment and the greatest
opportunity for cure.
Progressive Physicians
provide cutting-edge radiology services for St. Luke’s
Hospital and Health Network using the hospital’s
state-of-the-art technology. Progressive Physicians are
board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians who offer
personalized customer service for physicians and their
patients. The hospital’s new voice recognition system
allows for same-day distribution of radiology results,
with auto-fax to referring physicians’ offices.
