The Department of Environmental protection has certified that all of the nuclear medicine facilities at Bethlehem , Allentown and Quakertown, as well as the out patient facility at North are in compliance with the state guidelines. We passed their inspection and wish to thank the nuclear staff and administration for their level of care they provide.
St. Lukes Hospital - Quakertown Campus
Beginning in January 2005 Progressive Physicians is now providing cutting-edge radiology services for St. Luke's Hospital at Quakertown campus. Our radiologists are board-certified, fellowship-trained physicians who offer personalized customer service for physicians and their patients. The hospital's new voice recognition system allows for same-day distribution of radiology results, with auto-fax to referring physicians' offices.
Dr. Balshi and Dr. Fisher Appointed Wound Care Medical Director
James Balshi, MD was named the Medical Director of the Wound Center at St. Lukes Hospital at Union Station. Jay Fisher, MD was named the Medical Director of the Wound Center at St. Lukes Hospital at Quakertown. Both will oversee the treatment of chronic wounds with Hyperbaric Therapy and bio-synthetic wound treatment.
Quakertown Office Opening
For the convenience of our patients and referring physicians the practice will be seeing patients in our new Quakertown location in the Medical Office Building on the St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital campus. In addition , Dr. Fisher will be providing Vascular Surgery support to the Advanced Wound Center at St. Luke's Quakertown.
Presentation at European Congress of Radiology
Hal Folander, MD recently did a presentation on his experience leading the clinical trial for the GE Innova 4100 before the European Congress of Radiology in Vienna, Austria. The equipment revolutionizes Interventional Radiology, dramatically improving images and decreasing patient radiation exposure. St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem is the first installation in the World.
Dr. Granson appointed Chief of Surgery
Marc Granson, MD was recently appointed Chief of Surgery at St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network. After an outside consultant did a comprehensive nationwide search, Dr. Granson was nominated as the best candidate, elected by his peers, and appointed by the Hospital Administration and Board of Directors.
Vascular Lab Director Achieves APS Status
Progressive Physicians is proud to announce that Shirley Wagner-Sevy, Technical Director for our vascular laboratory, has achieved the status of Advanced Practice Sonographer (APS). This prestigious designation, awarded by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS) is the most difficult and demanding level of clinical recognition to achieve within the ultrasound profession.
