JAMES BALSHI, MD

Dr. Balshi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Vascular Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  Dr. Balshi has a special interest in complex aortic surgery
including endovascular aortic stent graft repair of aneurysms. 

He has extensive experience in renal vascular surgery, carotid artery surgery and lower extremity bypass surgery.  His clinical research has included multi-center national trials investigating the use of lytic therapy (r-TPA) in vascular disease and endovascular peripheral stent grafts (Hemobahn). Dr. Balshi has authored numerous publications in vascular surgery, and produced a wide range of medical videos for patient and physician education. Currently Medical Director of the wound care for St. Lukes Hospital at Union Station and Co-Director of the Vascular Center at St. Luke's Hospital,

He is the past President of the Northampton County Medical Society.  He is a member of the American Association of Vascular Surgery, the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and the American Venous Forum. Dr. Balshi has served as a consultant for several international medical products corporations.He received Award for Excellence in Surgical Education, General Surgery Residency, St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, PA  in 2004 and2007
